My Sewingroom

So my stitching friend Terri posted pictures of her on going project to clean up and organize her craft room. I thought I'd do the same. I will say it needs some cleaning and reorganizing as well but all it all I pretty much know where stuff is.
These are some purses I have been working on to get the right model to offer for sale in my Etsy Shop. My laptop is on the desk underneath. I don't use it for much, it's kinda slow.
The mannequin has a few aprons on it I need to photograph and put in the shop, the dresser is full of fabric.
More fabric and ribbon. I have a lot of fabric, I worked at Hobby Lobby for 3 years in the fabric and needlework department :)
Two of my 4 sewing machines, there is one in the desk the Singer is setting on that hasn't worked right in forever and I have an antique black enamel one in it's case in the dining-room. I haven't used my serger in a while :( The pink filing cabinet has my notions and sewing patterns in it.
A lot of my cross stitch stuff is in these 2 white cabinets, the stuff that is kitted anyway. I have patterns and pamphlets not kitted in a tote under the bed or the bottom drawer of the family filing cabinet in my bedroom closet. One of these days I need to update my database with all the info.
And last but not least the closet. I have totes of notions, lace, ribbons, more patterns etc. on the top shelf. All the aprons currently for sale are hanging there as is all the fabric I have bought to make skirts, dresses and pants (I actually need to make some of those one of these days), a couple of quilt projects and my yarn are also in here. I am working on getting all the shelving done using the Rubbermaid set we found at Lowe's.
Well that's it for now, I will try to remember to post pictures as I get it more organized and cleaned up. And my husband wants to try and put a bed in here HaHaHa!!!

Since my last update

Since my last update I've been a bit busy. In August we went to San Antonio to see our son Matthew graduate from Air Force basic training. He went on to Sheppard AFB to become a jet engine mechanic and is in the AF Reserves. He will be stationed at Moody AFB and will be working mostly on A-10's.
When we got home I entered a couple of stitched pictures in the Georgia National Fair and won a couple of ribbons. Alpine Garden by The Drawn Thread, I got a first place and best in Category for that one
Orchid by Mirabellia won second place in it's category. That one was such a quick stitch I'm looking to do a few more of the flower ones in the new year.
All my kids and my new daughter in law were here for the holiday's. We had a blast while they were here. We went and saw Les Miserables and the Hobbit and enjoyed both movies. I'm working on my list of want to stitch for next year. I need to not make such a large list but sometimes I can't help myself.

More Stitching (or how what I do while watching Grey's Anatomy of Lifetime:))

Ever since I finished The Wedding I have made it a mission to work on a few smaller projects I have in my stash (except for a couple of HAED's) I have started. I been working on Orchid by Nora Corbert and Lily of the Valley also by Nora, which was given to me as a birthday gift last year by a stitching friend. For my HAED I am working on Power and Prestige and I am going to do CavaLiers on Wicker Chairs also an HAED. My husband loves those little doggies and I'm thinking that is as close as I'm gonna get to one.I guess I'll start pulling floss for the little doggies this weekend, I have the fabric for it so floss is all that is needed to start:)

Here are the pics of my current WIPS:

Long overdue update

I have a long overdue update. My middle sone got married this past Sunday to a very beautiful young lady. I had always wanted to stitch The Wedding by Lavender and Lace but never had the occasion to do so until now. It took me about a year and a half to do and the last month before my self imposed deadline I was stitcing 8 to 10 hours a day on it. I think my poor hubby is tired of Grey's Anatomy I watched it a lot while working on this project. But I made it on time and it turned out very nice if I do say so myself. I took it to Hobby Lobby to have it framed and then over to a wonderful You Mail It type place to send it off. They wrapped it very well and it made it to the bride and groom without issue. I made them wait until I got there to actually open it. Now I am back to my rotation. Or at least what I think my rotation is going to be. I put a couple of easier, not a lot of one color pieces in the rotation. I will see how that works out over the never month or so.

What I do when not Cross Stitching

As you all might know I have an Etsy Shop. When I'm not cross stitching, sewing, or messing around with stuff on the computer I love to Crochet. Over the last couple of months while watching all the new shows on TV I have been busy making dish clothes. They are now available for sale in my Shop. Here is a preview of a couple of my favorites. Go take a look at the others, link to my shop on the right.

Updated stitching news

I have been working on my new and improved stitching rotation. I didn't like the one I had after I got it all together and started working on it. I decided to make some changes, big ones too. I am working on the Wedding, that one has to be done on time (by the beginning of May next year) so I can get it to the framers and framed before my son's wedding the beginning of June. The other pieces not so urgent. So I have decided to change things up a bit. I will work on the Wedding for 2 weeks and then one of the other pieces I am currently in love with for a week, back to the Wedding for 2 and then another piece for a week. I am on week 2 of the Wedding so new pictures will be up after the weekend but I do have progress to report on 2 other pieces I have been working on. First would be Sundae Delight by HAED. I like this one and will keep it in my must do pile for awhile yet.
The other one is also from HAED and I saw it on a Facebook group I belong to and had to have it. Last time HAED had a sale I bought it. It's called Power and Prestige and I found after my first week I didn't want to put it down but made myself. It has alot of greys and blacks in it but I am enjoying it alot . I am also liking the fabric alot. Just wish I could remember what I got.
Anyway new updates on the Wedding will be coming next week.
